Why we build Doname

Across Latin America and its diaspora there are thousands of nonprofits, collectives and projects sustaining soup kitchens, shelters, scholarships and therapy with a loose payment button, scattered transfers and a spreadsheet. Good fundraising tools exist, but they assume another reality: English only, requirements a Mexican nonprofit can't meet, or fees that eat a small donation.

Doname started in 2026 as a free software project built from Mexico to close that gap: a page of its own for every cause, monthly supporters at the center of the product, and zero platform fee. What an organization needs to operate on predictable income, without emergency campaigns every time the money runs out.

We are a tool, nothing more: the cause brings its story and its community, we bring the software.

Where we don't bend

• The money belongs to the cause. Platform fee: zero. Every donation is deposited directly into the cause's own account; Doname never touches it. We sustain ourselves with voluntary tips and, later, optional Premium tools.
• Actually free. Creating your page, receiving monthly supporters, the dashboard and receipts: the whole heart of the product is free and will stay free.
• Open source. All of Doname's code is public. For a platform that handles donations, being able to inspect how it works is worth more than any promise.
• Built for non-technical people. A nonprofit's treasurer should be able to build her page in an afternoon, no manuals.
• Trust is the product. We prefer a few real pages over a sea of doubtful causes. We review every page before it goes public.
